Information material:
A folder destinated to public and epileptic patients to explain different aspects of the epileptic disease was made and destinated to patients and their parents. A health record in arabic language is on going.

Meetings:

A meeting in March 1999 with the Runisian Paediatric Society: main topic was febrile convulsions (FC). National guidelines for follow up of FC was made.
- 2nd National Epilepsy Congress 24 April 1999. The main Topics were:
- Epilepsy surgery
- Genetic of epilepsy
- Free communications
During the 2nd National Congress and the meeting of March 1999: teaching program for pediatricians, psychiatrists and general practitioners was carried out.

Activities in relation to the Global Campaign Against Epilepsy
The T.A.A.E. had carried out a national program with the following targets:
- to increase public and professional awareness of Epilepsy as a treatable brain disorder by teaching professionals (psychiatrists, pediatrics and general practitioners) about epilepsy.
- the efforts of the T.A.A.E are dircted to improve the quality of life of Tunisian people with epilepsy by:
* increasing the level of knowledge of teachers about epilepsy and helping pupils with epilepsy to have a normal education.
* supplying hospitals with major antiepileptic drugs
* helping epileptic patients to keep their jobs or having jobs (collaboration of social workers)
* increasing contacts with epileptic patients and their families to identify their needs, mainly those who live far from Tunis and supplying them with antiepileptic drugs when necessary.

Summary statement:
The main spheres of our activities during 1999 remain the following
- improving quality of life of epileptic patient as the main target
- clinical assessment of epilepsy and treatment (medical and surgical)
- genetic of Epilepsy
