The Global Campaign against Epilepsy:
We have intensified the information about epilepsy in the community
and tried to approach international patterns in proceedings on diagnosis,
therapeutics and surgery.
Other activities: The Colombian League against Epilepsy
has continued to work in its Neurological Hospital in Cartagena,
in order to consolidate the Epilepsy Surgery Program started in
1989.
Summary Statement: We are at the time looking forward to
found a new democratic organization, which will be called "Association
of Colombian Leagues against Epilepsy" as our 18 branches (having
their seat in every department of Colombia), are independent and
are legally constituted. This step is supposed to be done during
the X Colombian Epilepsy Congress, to be held in Cartagena on March
24 to 26, 2000, with the assistance of Dr. Jerome Engel Jr, President
of ILAE.
