ILAE Launches International Online Discussion Group
WEST HARTFORD, CT - 14 February, 2006 – The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), the world’s premiere association for epilepsy professionals, announces the launch of their new international online Discussion Group.
The Discussion Group was officially launched on Friday, 10 February. The goal of the Discussion Group is to provide an opportunity for members of the League’s 96 chapters around the world to exchange views on topics of interest, including clinical care, treatment and research in the field of epilepsy.
“ILAE is keen to engage its members worldwide and to provide facilities for members to exchange views and comments,” said ILAE Information Officer Simon Shorvon, M.D. “The Discussion Group is an outstanding method for doing this…its easy to use and immediate. We hope the online exchange between our worldwide membership will assist improve clinical care and further research.”
The Discussion Group will be moderated by Andrew Wilner, M.D., a North American-based epileptologist.
“The launch of the ILAE online Discussion Group will enable members to take advantage of the power of the internet to discuss issues important clinical and research questions," said Dr. Wilner.
