Award of Social Accomplishment
This award is present to one individual who has carried out
outstanding activities aimed at the social benefit of people with epilepsy.
Those honoured receive a scroll and a cheque for US $1,000.
 Dr
Chong Cheul Park has dedicated the larger part of his professional
career to the voluntary care of people with epilepsy, not only in Korea,
but also internationally. He was a co-founder of the Rose Club in Korea,
the IBE national chapter and served as Vice President on the Executive
Committee of IBE for the period 1997-2001. Dr Park’s contribution to epilepsy
ranges from patient care to the organisation of medical service groups
who have been visiting Nepal, Mongolia and China on an annual basis since
1985. Dr Park also established educational programmes for people with
epilepsy and their families as well as sponsoring scholarships for a number
of Nepalese students.
