Ambassador Award

The Ambassador or Epilepsy Award is intended as a recognition of outstanding international contributions to activities advancing the cause of epilepsy, either internationally or with international impact.

Lifetime Achievement Award

This award honours those persons with a record of achievement in work against epilepsy, and is the highest honour presented by IBE and ILAE.

Michael Prize Award

This prize, presented biannually, was originally set up to stimulate epilepsy research among young scientists (under 40 years of age) in Germany. It is now an international award for the best scientific and clinical research promoting the further development in epileptology. The prize is awarded biannually and consists of DM 20.000,-. The award is presented during the International Epilepsy Congress following the election.

Morris-Coole Prize

The Morris-Coole Prize is a new annual ILAE award that is given in recognition of an outstandign research paper published in Epilepsia the previous year on any field of epilepsy research, either clinical or basic. The prize was established through the generosity of Christopher and Sandra Morris-Coole with the intention of stimulating excellence in epilepsy research as well as rewarding young researchers for outstanding contributions to the field.

Social Achievement Award

This award is present to one individual who has carried out outstanding activities aimed at the social benefit of people with epilepsy. Those honoured receive a scroll and a cheque for US $1,000.

Young Investigator's Award

The Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Epilepsy Congress, Buenos Aries, nominates two outstanding young scientists to receive the Young Investigator Award.  These awards are made possible through an educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline.
